Hosting Your Site

Once your web pages are ready to "go live", they must be uploaded to a web server computer. A web server is a computer which is permanently connected to the internet, and which listens for any requests for access to your site. When such a request is received, the computer serves up your pages to the requestor.

An important part of the Low Cost approach is to separate out the cost of hosting your web site from the design and maintenence aspects. Hosting is best done by a dedicated hosting company, who have a data centre, backup/security facilities and 24/7 technical support staff.

I do not supply hosting for your web site. Instead, I shop around to get you the best hosting arrangement for your requirements. This has two benefits:

  1. You can take advantage of the best deals currently on offer in the marketplace.
  2. You save the cost of the "percentage" that a re-seller of hosting services would normally charge.

If you do not already have a hosting arrangement, I can assess your needs and recommend a choice of hosting services that represent best value.

If you would like to browse for hosting services, then take a look at some of the Hosting Links in the Resources section to see how inexpensive it can be to have your web site hosted.
